Cognition Dissonance. How different Bandung is from Jakarta. The direction signage, seen in Bandung (06/09), would mean differently, depending on the context in which it is put. In Jakarta, “Bandara Soekarno-Hatta” (Soekarno-Hatta airport) would be understood, but citizens of Bandung would read “Bandara” (airport) (Husein Sastranegara) and “Soekarno-Hatta” (the street also known as By-Pass) as two different things. This is a unique case where distinct characteristics of our cities is rendered clearly. Muhammad Ali Firmansyah | October 2011
